About the Project
The Surviving Gun Violence Project (SGVP) was developed in mid-2011 to explore the connections between gun violence, disability, human rights and trauma. It was developed to:
• Advance policy development at the global and national level in the realms of human rights, health, rehabilitation and recovery, criminal justice, gun control and sustainable development;
• Facilitate inclusive national action to improve services and policies for survivors;
• Promote action-oriented analysis on assistance to survivors to inform policy, research and programming, and advocate for genuine inclusion of survivors in such efforts.
Its formal and funded activities concluded at the end of 2014. The initiative continues on a limited basis with pro bono assistance. If you would like to support the Project or contribute in some way please be in touch.
