Remembering Kempton Howard, Toronto

December 13 marks the tenth anniversary of the death of Kempton Howard in Toronto, Canada. On 10 December, his mother Joan Howard spoke about the reality of losing Kempton and the ongoing process to contend with his death. This was on the occasion of a press conference at the national parliament in Ottawa, convened by parliamentarian Craig Scott, who is active in the area of improving services and policies for survivors of violence and crime in Canada. Also speaking at the event was Dr. Annette Bailey who wrote the Canada chapter in the Surviving Gun Violence Project book and Rev Sky Starr, a grief counselor and gun control advocate.
